About Waverley Rd. Church
The Beaches Worship Centre is a Bible-based, Jesus-centred, Spirit-filled, English speaking, multi-ethnic, and missions minded church.
We have been a committed member of the Beach neighbourhood since 1891, and we continue to be a caring family, a community church.
We focus on the practical needs of Torontonians, addressing the everyday situations related to work, home, life and children.
Over 8 languages are spoken among our members including: French, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Burmese, Dutch, Greek, Nigerian, Spanish and Philipino.

Pastor
Rev. John W. Rush
Pastor Rush has over four decades of experience in Ministry, he graduated from Heritage Baptist Seminary with a Master of Theological Studies degree and has joined Waverley Road Baptist Church in 2010 as our Senior Pastor. Previously he worked as an Evangelist and Pastor to several ministries including: HCJB Canada and Australia (Radio Ministries), The Peoples Church, and from 1982 to 1992 he was Senior Pastor at our church. Pastor Rush was appointed to succeed Rev. Basil who recently retired.
Pastor Rush has extensive experience in Evangelism, discipleship, and has had a strong call from the Lord to serve him in ministry since early in his life. He is also proficient in the Bible, and in communicating the Message of God in a compelling, relevant way to people of all ages.
